As Google continues to expand its service and product base, we decided to take a look at our Google Talk review to learn more about how Google Talk works, how you can try it out and why it may be a better solution than other types of mobile communication technologies.
In our Google Talk review, we found how just about anyone who is interested can take advantage of the features offered by Google Talk to enhance communication between friends, family and coworkers. Google Talk offers users several different ways to communicate back and forth including computer to computer, voice and video chat. These activities can be done through Google Chat, Google Voice and Voice and Video Chat. The best part about the Google Talk services is that it is free to use as long as you have an Internet connection, computer or mobile communication device and a Google account.
Google Chat:
Like most Instant Messaging services, Google Chat is a way to communicate with friends, family and even other coworkers, over the computer. Through Google Chat, which is a free service as long as you have a Gmail account, you can type back and forth sending messages or even send YouTube links and videos. Now as the technology increases, users can begin using both the Voice and Video Chat services through Google Chat.
Google Voice and Video Chat:
In order to expand your Google Chat to allow for both voice and video chatting, all it takes to work is to download the voice and video chat plug-in. From this point, new users must quit the open browser winds and install the plug-in. Next, simply sign in to Gmail, and in your chat list, select the contact you are interested in calling. If they have a camera icon next to their name, this means they are capable of engaging in a voice or video call as well. Simply click the camera icon to place video or phone call to engage in a chat. Even if your friend does not have a camera icon next to their name, they can easily and quickly signup and download the plug-in as well to engage in the video chat. Users can also still engage in a one-video-way chat if one person in the conversation does not have a web camera or video camera.
Phone Calls from Gmail:
In addition to video and text chat, Google Talk is also available via regular phone calls, which is used with Voice over IP technology. This is done by placing and receiving phone calls to any landline or cell phone number in Gmail. In order to get started with this free VoIP service, you must be signed into the Google Chat service as well as have the voice and video chat features plug-in installed. From this point, users can click the call phone link at the top of the chat roster. This opens up the call window where you can dial a phone number, view call history and add credit if you need to make an International phone call. In addition, if you already use Google Voice, you can also enable G Chat as a forwarding phone and receive calls in Gmail.
The benefits of Google Talk:
With rising cell phone data, texting and voice plans, users are having to look for a more economical solution on how to save money with other ways to communicate. Google Talk helps users with this solution by offering most of its communication services, aside from international communication, for free. The only stipulation is that an Internet connection is necessary. However, if you have a cell phone with Internet access, the Google Voice service works with no problem, allowing you to talk for free. Video chats are also great tools for both personal calls as well as calls with other employees and coworkers. Have an office meeting simply by engaging the Google voice and video chat online. It is easy to use and Google provides any necessary support or assistance to make the process easier if needed. In our Google Talk review, we found Google to be a great way to save money on communication costs and is worth the time of everyone to give it a try.
